I feel the need .... the need for speed

Thats one Top Gun dialogue I can relate to, because every time I start my bike or step inside my car, I feel like racing. It really becomes a need to drive fast and stretch the vehicle to its maximum.
I know that it is dangerous and not worth it and other blah blah blah ... but unfortunately only people who themselves love speed can understand this need. I would have loved to become a racer ... either a motocross .. or normal bike racing .. or car racing or even F1 :) ... No NOT bicycle racing . I dont really enjoy watching races on TV though.
It is a great feeling when you are at the peak speed of your vehicle (unless its a small scooter having peak speed of say 40km/hr ) even if that feeling lasts for a few seconds, I enjoy it to the fullest. I have touched 110 Km/Hr with Caliber and 125 Km/Hr with Indigo, and yet I dont miss any chance (like getting an empty road all for myself) to match or even cross those.
There are very few reasons ... which can make me go out of Pune for some time .... Not having big and good enough roads for racing is one of them ;)

You could enable RSS site feed for your blogsite. The posts can then be easily read from a utility such as RSSOwl (or even from Firefox I guess).

A lot of times ... I have felt the same too ... but if given a choice between life and speed - I will choose life :) So no stunts on City roads, especially Pune ;). So in cities I live the pleasure of driving slowly and SKILLFULLY ;)! Speed Highways वर हरकत नाही!

Try the Mumbai-Pune expressway ... I have driven from Panvel to Pune in like 2 hours in a Zen ... The drive was mind blowing!!! NH4 is good too ... it will become an expressway all the way to Bangalore soon. NH9 (Pune - Hyd) is thrilling too - undivided, narrow road :)... but covering 550kms in like 8 hours on that was definitely memorable!

So Amol, its not that there are no roads where you can test your speed limits ... its just that you need to get your priorities right and find some time on the weekends WITHOUT GIVING STUPID REASONS :p

As I have said Alok, this can only be understood by people who themself feel the need, and unfortunately you are NOT one of them :P. So you really dont know what you are talking about :D. But as a "Punekar" I know that you HAVE to comment on EVERYTHING without thinking about weather you are eligible for it or not :))
Any stupid guy can speed on roads like the Expressway, but it takes a "real" racer to speed on the city roads WITHOUT hurting anyone. तेथे पाहिजे जातीचे, हे काम नव्हे येरा-गाबाळाचे :P:P
As for finding my priorities..I beleive I have them pretty well defined, and it is because of that..that I have to give priorities to some other things ALSO on weekends.

:)) :)) ... Thanks for the "Punekar" compliment!

BTW I think I was pretty clear in my comment about what I wanted to say - "A lot of times ... I have felt the same too ... but if given a choice between life and speed - I will choose life ... ... ... so in cities I "LIVE" the pleasure of driving slowly ..." ... feeling a need and satisfying it are two different things dude! Again the difference in what you choose comes in what you pointed out - PRIORITIES!!!

no no amol, according to me driving on a expressway specially because it is in india and that also in an indian car requires equal skills. also i did not understand one thing, in your blog you say that "There are very few reasons ... which can make me go out of Pune for some time .... Not having big and good enough roads for racing is one of them ;)". but in your comment up you say that "Any stupid guy can speed on roads like the Expressway, but it takes a "real" racer to speed on the city roads". so do you want to say you are stupid yourself? Sorry, just kidding :)

:)) nice catch Anonymous :)
But you see, I was replying to Alok's comment which says "So no stunts on City roads, especially Pune , Speed Highways वर हरकत नाही! Try the Mumbai-Pune expressway .." No doubt you can hit 120+ km/hr only on highways, but still, on City roads, I do go 60-70+ km/hr many times and sometimes, even 100km/hr , that was what I was referring to as " but it takes a "real" racer to speed on the city roads WITHOUT hurting anyone" ;)But its still not the top speed of my vehicle, for which I will need to go out of pune :D
And as to you conclusion "do you want to say you are stupid yourself?", well, you may find many such things to support it and many people agreeing to that :)) :)) :))
